UK Stewardship Code

Under rule  2.2.3R of the Financial Conduct Authorities' Conduct of Business Sourcebook, Kinnerton Credit Management Limited (“KCM”) is required to include on its website to make a disclosure about the nature of its commitment to the UK Financial Reporting Council’s Stewardship Code (the “Code”)  or where the Firm does not commit to the Code, its alternative investment strategy. The Code is voluntary and sets out a number of principles relating to engagement by investors with UK equity issuers.

The Code is directed in the first instance to institutional investors by which is meant asset owners and asset manager with equity holdings in UK listed companies. Whilst KCM is supportive of the objectives that underlie the Code, it has chosen not to commit to the Code. KCM does not currently invest in UK listed companies. KCM’s acts as an investment manager which invests in loans primarily secured on real estate assets. KCM’s investment strategy is to add value over the medium to longer term.

Although KCM seeks to align its approach with the broad aims of the Code, the provisions of the Code are primarily not relevant to the type of investment activity currently undertaken by KCM. Should any of these factors change, KCM will review its commitment to the Code at that time and make appropriate disclosure.
